Newspaper Displays in I-House Café

Todays front pages from as many as 150 newspapers are now on display in the I-House Café thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor. Viewers scan the worlds headlines on three large monitors, each switching to another newspaper every minute. The front pages are downloaded daily from www.newseum.org.

Today's News from Around The World

Commonly heard reactions are "cool" and "brilliant" as viewers notice the variety of news and headlines that use vastly different language to describe the same event-"peaceful protesters" in one newspaper are "an angry mob" in another. Executive Director Joe Lurie says, This is a terrific new way to experience how the world sees the world. Credit goes to Hellmut Meister, our Manager of Information Systems, and his student assistant, Matthew Kocher for making this dream a reality.
