As part of the UC Berkeley Japan Alumni Association Annual Meeting, International House, Berkeley hosted a 75th Anniversary Celebration Reception featuring Sadako Ogata, former United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees on June 16, 2006. More than 100 alumni of UC Berkeley and many former I-House residents gathered at the Tokyo American Club.
