Come Back to I-House for Elderhostel, 2004
Indigenous Peoples of Northern California Co-sponsored with UC Berkeley's Phoebe A. Hearst Museum of Anthropology , lectures by University professors, native scholars, and artists explore cultures, conflicts, and contemporary issues of Native Californian cultures. On a field trip to Point Reyes, we'll tour a recreated Miwok village and see demonstrations of typical skills. Art and Culture of India, Tibet, and Nepal An introduction to the arts and culture of India, Nepal, and Tibet including a docent-led tour of the re-located and expanded Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. Helen Crane Desai , an International House alumna and art history instructor, and other experts will lecture on topics including Early Indian Art; Art of Nepal and Tibet; and Gods, Goddesses, Myths and Symbols. In June, 2004, International House will present two new Elderhostel programs. The week-long programs are a great way to return to Berkeley with Cal alumni and friends and enjoy lectures and field trips. Elderhostel programs are open to those who are 55 and better.
