Dr. Abdel-Kader Abbadi (IH 1963-'67), retired Deputy Director for Political Affairs at the United Nations, discussed his career as a diplomat during a Home Room chat with residents. |
Dr. Eric Schmidt (IH 1976-'80), CEO of Novell, Inc., discussed the impact of technology across cultures at Sunday Supper. Mr. Takahide Akiyama, I-House Board member and General Manager of the Industrial Bank of Japan in San Francisco, examined banking in the context of the Asian economic crisis at a resident-alumni Lodestar program. Ms. Roberta Taylor Shaw (IH 1961-'63) taught a fascinating Elderhostel class, Russian Art and Culture. Dr. Youn Cha Shin Chey (IH1957-'60), Executive Director of the Korean Center of San Francisco, taught and coordinated speakers for an Elderhostel class, Understanding Korea. |
Dr. Jennifer Griesbach (IH 1991-'92), harpsichordist, brought a trio to the Home Room to perform a memorable concert for Elderhostelers. Prof. Terry Maul will teach a class for Elderhostel in June, Health, Happiness and Longevity: Current Research.
