Three new members were elected to the Board of Directors at meetings in May and September.

Robert Bush came to Cal after receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. After leaving Cal in 1973, he began a career in the construction and design of large-scale commercial, institutional, and residential projects. Prior to the formation of Robert Bush and Associates in 1995, he was construction director for ten years for Bramalea Limited’s City Center project in Oakland, CA. Mr. Bush has been a resident of Berkeley since 1971 and has served on the House Committee of I-House for seven years.

Mary Ann Mason is Dean of UC Berkeley’s Graduate Division, one of the nation’s largest graduate programs with more than 8,000 students and 100 programs. A professor in the School of Social Welfare for 11 years, she has gained a national reputation as an expert on family and child law. She completed her undergraduate studies at Vassar, earned a Ph.D. in history from the University of Rochester and received her law degree from the University of San Francisco in 1976. Dean Mason is chair of the I-House Financial Aid Committee.

Egon von Kaschnitz, who lived in International House from 1951-’52, is CEO of Zierer Visa Service, Inc. He received his A.B. and M.A. in economics from UC Berkeley and returned after a tour of duty with the army for an M.B.A. He is currently a member of the Haas School Advisory Board and is co-chair of the Haas Center for Financial Reporting and Management. Mr. von Kaschnitz has also served on corporate boards and non-profit organizations. His daughter, Ingrid is also a Cal and I-House alum.
