ALUMNI AT WORLD BANK HONG KONG SYMPOSIUM

ALUMNI AT WORLD BANK

More than 160 International House alumni and guests attended a dinner program at the World Bank in Washington DC. W. Michael Blumenthal (seated at left), former Secretary of the Treasury and an I-House Berkeley alumnus, was the featured speaker for the May event. Alumni represented International Houses in London, Brisbane and Sydney (Australia), Berkeley, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC. The evening concluded with a candlelight ceremony, a 90-year-old tradition observed at most International Houses around the world.

International House alumni who attended the Technology: Gateway to Global Leadership symposium enjoyed an informal dinner in Hong Kong. Executive Director, Joe Lurie (at left) put alumni under the spell of his magic with his talent for card tricks. The April event attracted more than 130 alumni to discuss technology and management challenges and innovations. Future international symposia, presented in partnership with the Haas School of Business, are in the planning stages.
