Two new members were elected to the International House Board of Directors at the March meeting.

Isao ďSteveĒ Matsuura

A 1971 alumnus of International House, Mr. Matsuura studied at Boalt Hall in 1971 and received law degrees from Kyoto and Kobe Universities in Japan. He is Chairman of Sanwa Bank of California and Visiting Professor of Law at Osaka University. Currently, he is a Trustee of the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, an Honorary Advisor of the Harmonia Opera Company, and Board member of the Japanese American National Museum. He has also served as a member of the Asia Project for the Council on Foreign Relations, Vice Chairman of the Institute of International Bankers, and Board member of the Japan Society.

Allan Buch

An alumnus of UC Berkeley and captain of Calís 1959 NCAA Championship Basketball Team, Mr. Buch has provided distinguished service to the campus for many years including serving on the Executive Committee for Fund Raising for the Haas Pavilion. Currently Vice Chair of UC Berkeley Foundationís International Committee, he has served on the Foundationís Board since 1989. Formerly owner of Empco Industries, Inc. in Glendale, California, he is now retired and resides in Norfolk, England, and Southern California. He is founder and president of Berkeley in Britain, Calís alumni club in England.
