Jacqueline Gain Sheldon writes, "The 1950's Alumni Reunion was really one of the happiest events in my life. It was great to be able to stay several days in the very special place which I-House is and will always be!"

Guitty Azarpay is a leading scholar of Near Eastern Art and Cal professor emerita of Near Eastern Studies. Her name and work are honored by a bequest that will fund studies of Iran including the Guitty Azarpay Visiting Professorship.

Alan Hugo and Sylvia Knowlton Hugo met at I-House in 1955 and celebrated their 40th anniversary in July.

Michel Le Gouis lives in Paris and consults on rural development and sustainable development issues.

John Bahcall

John Bahcall has been a professor of Natural Science at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey, since 1971. He is president emeritus of the American Astronomical Society and received the first Bethe Prize from the American Physical Society in 1998. He is married to Neta Bahcall, a professor of astronomy at Princeton University, originally from Israel. They have three children.
