Location

International House is on the University of California, Berkeley campus at the corner of Piedmont Avenue and Bancroft Way.

Parking

Parking on the UC Berkeley campus is very difficult. The I-House Lot is closed for stadium construction until 2011. Street parking at meters is free after 6 pm. In non-metered areas, parking is free for two hours and unregulated after 7 pm. Meters are free with a California disabled placard. See Parking Information (PDF)

1 Underhill Lot
Located at the corner of Channing and College, this lot is a 5-10 minute walk from I-House. The campus shuttle (R line) runs from Underhill Lot to I-House every 24 minutes between 7:30 am and 7 pm on weekdays. See route R marked on map. The lot is open to the public on weekends and weeknights after 5 pm. Park on any level, note your space number and pay at the machines next to the elevator. $2 per hour weeknights and Saturday, 50 cents per hour on Sundays.

2 Prospect Court Lot
Located up the hill and behind I-House - a short but steep walk. From Piedmont Ave. one block south of International House, turn east on Channing, left on Prospect, and enter the parking lot. Open to the public on weekends and after 5 pm, pay 50 cents per half hour at the yellow pay station. Park in the unreserved spaces in center or east rows (NOT in the west row). Note: This lot may be closed due to stadium construction.

3 Boalt Law School Lot
This is the closest public parking to I-House. From Hearst Ave., turn right on Gayley. Immediately past the Haas School of Business, turn right and then left into the lot. Directly ahead you will see a yellow pay station. Open to the public on weekends and weeknights after 5 pm. $1 per hour, $12 max.

4 Kroeber Lot (Tennis Courts)
This is also close to I-House but more expensive. Located on Bancroft, west of College Ave and across the street from the Berkeley Art Museum. Open to the public on weekends and weeknights after 5 pm. Pay $3 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour at the yellow pay station.

5 Public Lots next to the Berkeley Art Museum on Bancroft and below Inkstone on Bowditch.
