Computer Resources

We understand that appropriate technological resources are an important part in today’s education.  In order to support the educational goals of our residents we provide a variety of equipment and services.

 In-Room Network Connections
All resident rooms are equipped with wired Ethernet connections that allow you to connect directly at high speed to the campus network and the Internet.  Once connected, you can even print from your room to printers in the Peripherals Room.

The Resident Computing Center (near the elevators on the 3rd floor) offers 24-hour access to a number of Windows and Mac systems with popular application software.  Two laser printers are also available.

The Peripherals Room (2nd Floor near Library) offers two systems with multimedia software, color printing and a scanner.  

The Library and Laundry Room have additional stations for web access and email.

Wireless Access in Public Areas
The campus-wide Airbears wireless network can be accessed from the public areas on the ground and second floor.  This includes the Café and its patios so you can drink coffee in the café and work on your laptop.

Laptop Rental
For those who did not bring a computer we have a limited number of rental laptops available. 

Computer Support
We are happy to give you guidance and to help you make your computer secure and ready to connect to the network.  Free virus protection and firewall software are available through our office.  Please feel free to ask for help with all your computer problems. We may be able to help and save you a trip to a computer store.

Fees and charges
Except for printing and laptop rentals, all of our computing services are available free of charge for academic year residents.  There is a one-time network connection fee of $40 for summer session guests.
