International
House Berkeley Orientation Retreats for new residents and enthusiastic
staff are now a 30-year tradition. Your retreat promises to be
one of the most vivid memories of your I-House Experience. You
will learn how to optimize your stay at I-House and gain a clearer
understanding of the I-House Mission. Most importantly, the retreat
is designed to facilitate new global friendships through intercultural
exchange.

You are
invited to join other new residents and current staff for an overnight,
fun-packed Orientation Retreat.
The cost
of your food, transportation, and lodging is covered by I-House.
Our site
for the fall retreats is the Valley of the Moon Camp located in Sonoma
County, north of San Francisco. Spring retreats are held at the
Walker Creek Ranch,
located on 1700 acres of rolling hills in Marin County, also north of
San Francisco. Our goals for you are:
- Begin making friends within our unique and extraordinary global community.
- Learn about the many programs, services, and other resources for you at International House.
- Meet other residents and staff in a relaxed natural setting, where community building is the focus.
When you
arrive at I-House, please come to the Program Office for more complete
information and to sign-up for the retreat that suits your schedule.
You are only eligible to attend a Retreat during your first semester
of I-House residence. Space is limited so it is important to make your
reservation early. We frequently hear that people made some of their
best Berkeley friendships during their I-House Retreat, so we encourage
you to attend. We look
forward to meeting you personally to welcome you to the I-House community.
