IT/Computer Support

Computer Center

We understand that appropriate technological resources are an important part in today’s education.  In order to support the educational goals of our residents we provide a variety of equipment and services.

Getting online in I-House

All resident rooms are equipped with wired and wireless connections that allow you to connect directly to our high speed network.  Once connected, you can even print from your room to printers in the 3rd floor Resident Computing Center. Login information will be provided upon arrival.

Resident Computing Center

The Resident Computing Center (RCC) is available exclusively to current I-House residents twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  The Center is located just outside of the elevators on the third floor.  It offers access to a number of Windows and Mac systems with popular application software and connection to the Internet.  Three laser printers are available for use with a printer access card (cards for printing are for sale at the Resident Service Center, located in the Laundry Room adjacent to the elevators).

Printing

Residents can print from their personal computer anywhere in I-House to the printers in the RCC. Instructions on printing from a personal computer to the I-House printers can be found at In-Room Printing.

Wireless Access in Public Areas

The campus-wide Airbears wireless network can be accessed from I-House Cafe.

Computer Support

We are happy to give you guidance and to help you make your computer secure and ready to connect to the network.  Free virus protection and firewall software are available through our office.  We may be able to help and save you a trip to a computer store.

Fees and charges

Except for printing and laptop rentals, all of our computing services are available free of charge for academic year residents
