A vital part of the RCILP team, Program Leaders help plan and coordinate signature I-House events and its vibrant cultural program, and they also support resident-initiated activities that aim to build community and bring residents together.

Program Leads for I-House Berkeley

Eligibility

PLs are required to be an I-House resident and have registered status at UC Berkeley during their term of employment. **Exchange students are more than welcome to apply, even if they are at I-House only for a semester. 

Registered undergraduate or graduate student possessing a minimum 2.300 cumulative GPA and in good standing with the University at the time of application and throughout the period of employment. Please note that GPA does not round up. Having a GPA of 2.299 or below will make you ineligible for the position.

Full-time academic status (minimum 12-13 units per semester) during period of employment. Exceptions must have prior approval.

It is a part-time position of up to 15 hours per week.

Compensation: $18.07/hr

Timeline

Timeline for all applicants:

  • Interviews: July 01- July 15
  • Offers: Early August 2024
  • Deadline to accept: Mid-August 2024

Samuel Garcia

Hey, I am Samu! I am happy to work here at I-House. I am very excited about organizing events and talks at I-House, I believe it can be a chance to meet very interesting people and share our community with them. So if by any chance your dad went to high school with Tom Hanks, Miley Cyrus’ mom is your neighbor or you just happen to know any cool person you think that'd be fun for the community to meet, just let me know and we’ll try to make it happen ;



Apratim Banerjee

Hello! I'm Apratim Banerjee, a Program Leader at I-House, and a master's student in EECS at UC Berkeley. Outside the tech world, I stay active with tennis and badminton, and I often turn to playing the piano as my creative escape! I speak four languages, love meeting new people, and organizing events to promote cultural exchange. Living at I-House is a life changing experience, and I am grateful to work here so I can give back to this wonderful community.

Hello! My name is Mar, and I am a Spanish exchange student here at Berkeley, I’m pursuing a double degree in Law and Political Science. I'm passionate about a diverse range of activities As an avid reader, I spend a considerable amount of my free time buried in books, when I am not at the library you would find me hitting the gym for a rigorous workout session, jogging outdoors, or playing a competitive sport, staying active is a vital part of my daily routine. I find that physical exercise not only keeps me fit but also provides a mental refresh that's incredibly fulfilling. Cooking is another passion of mine; I prioritize making delicious, wholesome meals. For me, cooking is more than just a hobby, it's my love language. If I've cooked for you, know that you hold a special place in my heart. Feel free to come around and say hi! I hope we can meet soon.

Hey! I’m Gayathri, a master’s student at Berkeley Law and a Program Lead at the Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership and Programs. I have a huge array of eclectic interests, ranging from astronomy to magic so I am always the happiest to meet new people and have spirited conversations. It is this curiosity that drove my passion toward my position as a Program Lead, a role that thrives on building exciting opportunities for my fellow I-House residents and understanding where their passions and interests lie. Hello, I'm Nishita Philip, a Berkeley Material Science Master's student, hailing from the enchanting lands of India. Beyond my scientific pursuits, I'm a passionate storyteller delving into mythology, philosophy, and the supernatural. On other days, you’ll catch me dancing or playing basketball! My goal as a Program Lead is to curate events that speak to not just people from all corners of the globe but also to individuals with a myriad of interests and personalities. Hello! I’m Natalia Stasik, a third-year student in the Dual BA Program between Sciences Po and UC Berkeley, originally from Poland. I am a former dancer and gymnast, and I have a passion for traveling, cooking, fashion, and philosophy. In my leisure time, I enjoy playing tennis, hiking, attending concerts, and indulging in embroidery. My experience in community leadership includes leading the Association of Polish Students in France and initiating social projects, such as an English language school for Polish seniors. Currently, I speak 3.5 languages and am working on mastering Spanish. I am eager to learn more through my interactions within the I-House community. I am very open to sharing about Polish culture and am looking forward to meeting new people at I-House and beyond.

I'm a Program Leader at the Robertson Center for Intercultural Leadership Programs and my major is Legal Studies. I love to have overpriced lattes at different coffee shops; volunteer at music shows (to get a free ticket); aimlessly stroll with my friends and learn new languages. Alizé Jean

Hi everyone! My name is Alizé. I’m from LA, and originally French-American. I’m in the Sciences Po-Berkeley Dual BA program, meaning that I spent the last two years studying in France! I am now a junior at Berkeley majoring in Political Economy. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature – whether it be hiking, running/gym-ing, skiing or scuba diving. I’m also passionate about traveling and meeting new people from all over the world! Super excited to be PA-ing this year at I-house :)

Hello! My name is Daphné and I am one of your program assistants! I am currently a senior undergraduate student majoring in Political Economy with a concentration in Financial Economics. I am deeply interested in the intersection between politics, philosophy, and economics. I was born and raised in France and can speak French, English, Russian, and a bit of Spanish. I love trying out new food spots, watching cinema, running, and thrifting. Looking forward to meeting everyone this year! :)

Hi! My name is Emmanuelle but you can call me Manou! Before coming to Berkeley, I studied mechanical and electrical engineering in France. This year, I am a master student in Materials Engineering and also involved as a program assistant at CILP. In France, I gained experience in organizing events by getting involved in several student associations and I really enjoyed it. In particular, developing my creativity, my efficiency and my team spirit fulfilled me. Anusha Thotakura is from Bengaluru, India. Her pronouns are she/her. She is currently an LL.M. student at UC Berkeley School of Law and a Program Assistant at I-House. She previously worked as a social justice legal researcher after receiving her law degree from India. Her passion lies in disability justice, sexual and reproductive health and rights, Anti-carceral politics, gender rights, and labor rights. She is an avid reader, travel enthusiast and loves exploring new cuisines.

Outside of school, I am a professional hairstylist specializing in braiding and locs. I love music, exploring new places and food, organizing events, and meeting new people. Hi, all! I am Yi Wu, from Beijing, China. I am a graduate student in Goldman School of Public Policy. I also held a bachelor degree of economics and a three-year master degree in law. My passion is researching all the innovations and open to the fast-changing world in each academic area.  During my spare time, I like cooking, running marathons, hiking and swimming. Zhongpu is a Computer Science MEng student. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Zhejiang University. Dreaming of building an inclusive society, he has been engaged in learning and making technology for everyone. Besides that, he loves cycling, swimming, and hiking.
