Parking

Parking on the UC Berkeley campus is challenging. Street parking at meters is free after 6 p.m. In non-metered areas, parking is free for two hours and unregulated after 7 p.m. Meters are free with a California disabled placard.

Campus Parking Lots

During traditional work hours, hourly parking paid in advance. Parking lots closest to I-House are listed here:

1. Maxwell Garage: on the corner of Gayley and Stadium Rim Way, a three-minute walk from I-House.

2. Law School Lot: Behind the building opposite I-House.

3. Kroeber Lot: On Bancroft near College Ave. under tennis courts.

4. Underhill Garage: at the corner of Channing and College, a five- to ten-minute walk from I-House.
After 5 p.m. Monday–Friday and weekends, hourly public parking is available in all campus parking areas unless otherwise indicated.

International House cannot assume the responsibility for parking violations incurred while visiting or renting I-House facilities.

The I-House driveway is available for loading and unloading only. The I-House parking lot is restricted for use by I-House staff permit holders.

Public Transit

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)subway trains operate from Fremont, Richmond, Pittsburg, SFO and Millbrae. Route maps and stops of all trains are located at each station. The Berkeley BART station is just 1-1/2 blocks from the Berkeley campus.

• From Downtown Berkeley BART: Take the AC Transit Bus 51B toward Rockridge. Get off at Durant Ave & College Ave. Walk 6 minutes uphill to I-House.
• From Rockridge BART: Take the AC Transit Bus 51B toward the Marina or 4th Street. Get off at Durant Ave & College Ave. Walk 6 minutes uphill to I-House.

Campus Shuttle(route and stops to I-House indicated on map) is located across from BART at Center and Shattuck in front of Bank of America. The

AC Transitbus service provides transportation for commuters to and from San Francisco and throughout Alameda and Western Contra Costa County.

Oakland Airport
TheOakland Airportis approximately 15 miles from UC Berkeley.

• Bart: Take the monorail (AirBART) to Coliseum BART station. Board the Richmond-bound orange-line BART train. Exit at Downtown Berkeley BART station. Take the AC Transit Bus 51B toward Rockridge. Get off at Durant Ave & College Ave. Walk 6 minutes uphill to I-House.
  

San Francisco Airport
