Whether you make a gift to open doors for the next generation of I-House residents or simply because you believe in our mission, you are part of something rare, enduring, and full of hope. Thank you!

Give through the UC Berkeley Foundation

All gifts, including legacy gifts, can be made to International House via the University of California, Berkeley Foundation (UCBF). Make your gift through UCBF or contact us at philanthropy@ihouseberkeley.org.

Please note that a portion of each gift made to International House via UCBF is allocated to UC Berkeley’s fundraising and engagement efforts.

Give from Abroad

International House works with the UC Berkeley Foundation and other partners to facilitate giving from abroad.

Canada: If you make a gift to International House via the UC Berkeley Foundation, your gift is tax-deductible in Canada as prescribed by Canadian law. The University of California, Berkeley, is recognized as a tax-exempt organization by Revenue Canada (Tax ID 154146).

Hong Kong: Hong Kong taxpayers can make donations in Hong Kong dollars or U.S. dollars via the University of California Foundation Limited in Hong Kong. Contributions will be tax-deductible as provided for under Section 88 of the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Ordinance. The Foundation will collect your contribution and forward it to International House via the UC Berkeley Foundation.

United Kingdom: British and U.S. taxpayers can make donations in pounds sterling to International House via the University of California Trust, which is a registered British Charity (No. 1075405). This allows UK taxpayers to receive UK tax benefits, including Gift Aid, which the Trust can collect and forward to International House.

Donors with tax liabilities in both the UK and the US can give to UC Berkeley via the CAF American Donor Fund, which is designed for dual US/UK taxpayers. This fund, trading as Southampton Row Trust Ltd., enables US citizens living in the UK to receive tax benefits in both countries for their contributions.

Other European Countries: European taxpayers may give to International House via Giving Europe, which currently covers 19 countries. Donors make a gift to the national Giving Europe partner in their country, which then transfers the gift to the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in London. This process allows donors to receive all the national fiscal advantages available in their home country. CAF will then forward your gift to International House with the assistance of the University of California Trust (UK).

For more information on international giving, please contact our philanthropy team at philanthropy@ihouseberkeley.org or (510) 295-0208.
