Even when Berkeley feels quieter in the summer, I-House is full of life—making it easy to meet new people and form meaningful connections.
All-Inclusive Living (No Cooking or Cleaning Required): With meals included, you’ll have more time to focus on what matters—studying, exploring, and connecting. Enjoy a relaxed living experience with community programs and RA-led outings.
Prime UC Berkeley Campus Location: I-House sits at the top of Bancroft Avenue near Berkeley Law and Haas, with stunning Bay and Golden Gate views. Residents are within walking distance of campus, libraries, recreational facilities, and Berkeley’s shops and restaurants.

Summer Room Options
Single and Double Rooms Available
Please note in the Summer, you cannot specify type of Double Room. This is our double bunk-bed room
Please note in the Summer, we do not differentiate between single room types, with the exception of the Premium Single.
Premium single rooms will be located in preferred areas of the I-House building and may include Bay-View and 2nd floor Singles.

We know Berkeley can be quieter during the summer months. This is why I-House is the perfect place to meet new friends and find people to do things with! While programming is lighter during this time, I-House remains an active and welcoming community, with Resident Advisors leading outings and opportunities to connect with both U.S. and international residents throughout the summer.
Dining Commons
All-Inclusive Meal Plan
Eating together is an important part of life at International House Berkeley. All resident rates include a meal plan, and participation is required for all residents, providing convenient access to daily on-site dining. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday. The resident meal plan includes 21 swipes a week.
Our Dining Commons serves a rotating menu featuring a mix of global cuisines and familiar staples to satisfy the tastes of our international residents, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free diets. Special accommodations may be considered and residents may meet with our dining staff to discuss special dietary concerns or food allergies by emailing dining@ihouseberkeley.org. Please note that our kitchen is not certified halal or kosher, and we are unable to guarantee meals prepared according to these laws.
Exceptions: On most holidays, the Dining Commons serves one meal. The Dining Commons is closed during Winter break and some holidays. Residents may use the Sproul Kitchen to cook during these periods.
