Marketing Leads (MLs)

Eligibility

Requirements:

Must be an I-House Resident for the 2026-27 Academic year and have registered graduate or undergraduate status at UC Berkeley during their term of employment.

Must possess a minimum 2.300 cumulative GPA and in good standing with the University at the time of application and throughout the period of employment.

Full-time academic status (minimum 12-13 units per semester) during period of employment. Exceptions must have prior approval.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in social media management, digital marketing, or related fields
Proficiency in social media platforms, design and email marketing tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail

Timeline

Applications Open: June 1-30

Interview Period: July 6-17

2-minute introductory video
Any additional materials (Optional): If you have any other relevant documents, such as a portfolio, certifications, or references, that you would like to include to support your application

Selection Process

Phase 1: Review committee will evaluate all applications.

Phase 2: Successful candidates will be invited for an interview (in-person or virtual).

Phase 3: Offers will be sent out to a final list of candidates.

Time Commitment and Compensation

Part-time position (up to 15 hours per week)
Evening and weekend work required

Compensation:

$19.61/hour

Irina Paun Hello! I’m Irina, an undergrad Junior majoring in political sciences & political philosophy. I’m Romanian, grew up in the Bay, and spent the past two years studying abroad in France. Other than the classic dining table introduction, I’m a ballroom dancer, will often speak in Franglais, listen to a considerable amount of techno and réggaeton, and can be found philosophizing about life or chaotically highlighting philosophy texts at any given time between 8pm - 2am in the Great Hall so if you’re around, please say ciaooo. Marta Lastre Mata Hi, I’m Marta! I’m from Spain and currently studying Law and Economics at Carlos III University in Madrid. But there’s more to me than just academics, I’m passionate about traveling, discovering new restaurants, and experimenting with recipes in the kitchen. When I’m not exploring new places or trying out a new dish, you might find me playing the accordion, chatting with friends, or getting lost in a good mystery novel (Agatha Christie is my all-time favorite author). As your Marketing Lead here at UC Berkeley’s international residence, I’m all about mixing creativity and strategy to make our community feel like home :). And if you ever need travel tips or restaurant recommendations, feel free to reach out because I’ll always be here for a chat <3!
Saif Maharmah Hello! I’m Saif, a graduate student in civil engineering at Berkeley. Originally from Jordan and Palestine, I grew up in the UAE. I’m a big fan of exploring new cities and destinations, especially the history of their unique architecture and urban design. In my spare time, I love making albums on Instagram and Pinterest featuring interesting houses, interiors, and gardens. It’s also great fun to take that a step further and put together playlists that capture specific vibes, like French elevator music, the radio of a ’72 Cadillac, or the lobby at the Edition just before midnight. As a Marketing Lead this year, I’m excited to help build a vibrant community that celebrates the incredible diversity of I-House. I look forward to making this year a memorable experience for all of us!
Victor Ochieng Straight from the vibrant streets of Kenya, I’m now diving deep into the world of journalism at UC Berkeley, where I’m mastering the art of documentary production. Hey pals! I am Gilbert from Hong Kong. I am a graduate student in Master of Architecture here at Cal. I am super excited about being one of the marketing and communications leads (MCL) at I-House serving the community. I am very interested in architecture and urbanism and their intersections with social history and urban life. I am a very energetic person that loves to explore the world, so I am a big fan of travelling. I also like playing badminton, kayaking and hiking. I know I-House is a place for me because I enjoy interacting with people with different backgrounds, cultures and stories! Being an MCL is a great opportunity for me as it allows me to fully immerse myself in the I-House family. Let’s make our journey at I-House an awesome adventure!

Hello! I’m Suvi and I am a third-year exchange student from South Korea. I study Information and Interaction Design at home and Media Studies at Cal. I love drawing, watching k-dramas, anime, and generally warm, cute things. I’m so happy to be a part of the MCL team this semester and I hope to be able to capture everyone’s precious memories at I-House.
