The Summer I-House Experience

International House is an exciting residential and program center that welcomes U.S. and International students, visiting scholars, researchers, and postdocs. We also provide space for groups visiting UC Berkeley during the summer conference season.

All Double rooms are charged the same rate. We cannot guaratee or specify which double room type you will be assigned.

Summer Eligibility

International House serves as a Summer residence for a variety of students of all academic levels, summer groups, conference attendees, and those attending Summer Sessions at UC Berkeley. We do not require I-House residents to be affiliated with UC Berkeley over the Summer. All residents must be at least 18 years of age for the duration of their stay at International House.

Summer Group Reservations

I-House welcomes advanced group booking requests for groups of four or more participants. Each group is managed by a central coordinator who works directly with our Admissions team to streamline the process—making it easy to complete reservations, sign the agreement, and arrange a single payment for the entire group.

Booking as a group ensures your participants can enjoy the unique I-House experience together, with the convenience of one central point of contact.

Please note that space is only confirmed once the Summer Group Reservation Agreement has been signed, full payment has been received, a participant list has been provided, and all group members have submitted their applications.

Linens are not provided, but groups often find it simple and cost-effective to order them in advance and have them delivered directly to I-House.

Meals

The meal plan includes 21 meals weekly at International House Dining Commons (except holidays and other planned closures). The Dining Commons offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner Monday through Friday and brunch and dinner on Saturdays and Sundays.
