International House provides its residents, staff, and the UC Berkeley community with a different variety of ethnic dishes every day. And now the public may taste the world, choosing from a variety of entrees from across the globe for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
I-House meals feature an all-you-can-eat buffet-style salad bar, deli bar, pasta bar, daily soup, pizza, and sundry rotating entrees. Menus change daily to bring residents a new culinary slice of the world. On any given day, diners might find traditional American fare next to dishes from multiple continents ranging from Chinese sesame noodles to tomato-okra curry to Jamaican curried rice to old-fashioned minestrone soup just to name a few!
Throughout the year, our residents may also contribute recipes from their respective homelands to our menu. We also prepare a number of Native American, Chicano-Latino, African American, European, and Asian-themed cultural meals to accompany major ethnic-heritage celebrations, including Oktoberfest, Diwali, Lunar New Year, and Persian New Year, among others.
