Dear I-House Community,
As International House welcomes 2021, we would like to provide an update to you all on the progress we are making during our temporary closure as we prepare to reopen for Fall 2021. We are excited by the Chancellor’s statement and the University of California President Michael Drake’s announcement in this message that the University of California is planning for a return to primarily in-person instruction systemwide in fall 2021.
As a unique residential and dining facility with a prime location and rich tradition of leadership development experiences, the purpose of I-House is to foster a more just and peaceful world through intercultural understanding and mutual respect. To ensure that our residents and staff are as safe as possible in light of the pandemic, we are updating all cleaning and sanitizing standards to the highest levels; reimagining virtual and in-person resident programming; implementing new dining safety standards; and planning for an all single room environment for the Fall 2021 semester.
International House Berkeley anticipates welcoming new and returning residents in Fall 2021, with applications for admissions scheduled to open on February 15, 2021.
