Dear I-House Community,
Diversity has been at the core of the International House community since we opened our doors almost a century ago—and never before has it been under attack like it is today.
I-House was the first interracial living center west of the Hudson River, welcoming students of all backgrounds to live and learn together under one roof. Inspired by the conviction that international fellowship could combat ignorance and prejudice, our founders created a space where students from around the world share daily life, ideas, and dreams.
I-House stands firm as a community committed to inclusion and progress.
And yet today, international students face unprecedented uncertainty. Shifting policies, complex visa processes, and a climate of unpredictability have made it more challenging than ever for talented students to pursue their dreams in the United States.
For many, the financial barriers to joining our community are an additional challenge. That’s why we are reaching out to our I-House alumni and friends for support.
Our Goal: Raise $50,000 for the International House Scholarship Fund by June 30, 2025.
Your support is essential. Why? Because a strong scholarship fund means more room and board aid for I-House residents. Scholarships make a difference, especially these days.
Please make your gift today. Together, with your help, we can keep the doors of I-House open to the world.
With gratitude,
Margie Ryan (IH 1992-93)

P.S. Every gift makes a meaningful difference and brings us closer to our goal, so please give what you can!
