Global Leadership Program

The Global Leadership Program is offered by the Robertson Resident Life and Intercultural Development Office at International House, UC Berkeley. This program aims to provide I-House residents with tools to enhance their leadership skills through the lens of Cultural Intelligence and Cultural Values. The program will consist of three half-day (weekend) workshops and 1-1 debriefing sessions. In addition, participants must engage in existing I-House programming and experiential learning opportunities.

Program Highlights

  • Cultural Intelligence Assessment: You will take a Cultural Intelligence Assessment to measure your capability for working and relating across cultures. The assessment evaluates skills in four distinct areas, and you'll receive a debrief session to discuss your results and progress.Cultural Intelligence Center: https://culturalq.com/about-cultural-intelligence/  

  • Workshops and Debriefing:Participate in three half-day weekend workshops that will provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills. Additionally, you will have one-on-one debriefing sessions to reflect on your learning and development.

  • Experiential Learning: Engage in various I-House programs and activities to apply your newly acquired skills in real-world settings.

  • Participate in Annual I-House Gala and International Cultural Festival.
  • Certificate of Completion: Upon successfully completing the program, you will receive a certificate recognizing your achievement and enhanced leadership capabilities.

Eligibility

Fall 2025 Cohort: I-House Berkeley Resident during Fall 2025 semester in good overall standing. 

Spring 2026 Cohort: I-House Berkeley Resident during Spring 2026 semester in good overall standing. 

Opportunity

  • Enhance leadership skills through the lens of Cultural Intelligence and Cultural Values. ​
  • One cohort per semester with limited spots.​
  • Attend three half-day (weekend) sessions and 1-1 coaching session.​
  • Participate in Annual I-House Gala.
  • Host a cultural booth in International Culture Festival.​
  • Participate in a series of intercultural programming opportunities.​

The program challenged my thinking about how global leadership can be most effective in promoting positive change for a more peaceful world.
