Dear I-House Community,
Sunday was the International House Awards Celebration and Gala, and I’m still feeling buoyed by the celebration, the camaraderie, and the beautiful reminder of what I-House is all about. We were honored to share this festive occasion with Rich Lyons, the new Honorary Chairman of the Board for I-House, and many I-House alumni, friends, and residents for this special event. Once again, my heartfelt congratulations to our distinguished awardees: Markos Kounalakis (IH 1977-78), The University Section Club, and Excellence Anurika Joshua (IH 2023-24).
If you couldn’t attend last month’s Lodestar Speaker Series panel discussion on AI, you can now watch the insightful conversation on our YouTube channel. Another Lodestar Speaker Series event will be taking place next week on the topic of global entrepreneurship. And coming up in April is our annual International Culture Festival. These events truly embody the spirit of global exchange at I-House.

Later this spring, I look forward to connecting with our I-House community at alumni gatherings beyond Berkeley. We’ve teamed up with other International Houses around the world to plan a Global Community Gathering in New York on April 7. We’ve also planned an I-House Berkeley alumni gathering in London on May 9. Come one, come all!
Finally, I invite you to support I-House in the UC Berkeley 24-hour “Big Give.” This annual cross-campus day of giving starts tomorrow at 9 p.m. and ends on March 13th at 9 p.m. Please mark your calendars and plan to make a gift to I-House on this special day!
