Dear I-House Community,
In many cultures, the dove is a symbol of peace – something that these days seems particularly relevant around the globe.
This vision of peace is integral to the International House mission and the experience of I-House residents. Each year, we bring together individuals from more than 70 nationalities and cultures to live and learn in international fellowship. What continues to give me hope is that, despite the intercultural turmoil and challenges facing the world at large, I-House remains a place of peace.
I-House residents develop intercultural understanding and essential cultural humility through our signature programs, conversation over shared meals, and various small but often world-opening exchanges here “under the dome.” In the words of former I-House resident Raghav Mittal (IH 2022-2023), “At International House, I have learned from my peers and friends from across the world that there is little that divides us.”
To those who have already generously supported I-House this year, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your contributions, alongside those of fellow residents, alumni, and friends, make I-House possible.
For those who have yet to contribute, please support our vision of peace by making a meaningful gift now. With your support, we can enhance the I-House experience and steadfastly pursue our mission to foster intercultural respect and understanding, lifelong friendships, and leadership skills for a more just and peaceful world.
With gratitude,
Nayeli Vivanco
