The Resident Assistant (RA) job description and compensation

Resident Assistants (RAs) are student live-in staff that provide assistance to residents and help to build and maintain a safe and enjoyable living environment for all. RAs enforce I-House rules, respond to emergency situations, mediate roommate conflicts, and refer residents to I-House or campus professionals for additional information or assistance. RAs also plan community-building activities for residents throughout the academic year.
Under the direction of the Resident Support Services (RSS) Manager, the Resident Assistant (RA) is responsible for eight key areas: Customer Service, Safety/Security, Peer Advising, Policy Enforcement, Crisis Intervention, Conflict Mediation, Community Development Activities, and Administrative Procedures. As an employee of the I-House, the RAs will adhere to, administer, and enforce policies and procedures as outlined in the Front Desk Procedures, the RSS Staff Training Manual, and the I-House Resident Handbook.
I-House has 13 Resident Assistants (RAs) who are student live-in staff that monitor the safety and well being of residents. RAs also enforce I-House policies, help residents with conflict matters, check-in and check-out, and lock-outs. RAs work from 4:00 pm - 8:00 am Monday - Friday and all day on weekends and holidays.
Compensation
The RA will receive room and board during the period of employment as compensation. Living arrangements will include one regular single Resident Assistants will receive a meal plan. Unused points after the vacancy of the position will not be transferred to the student.

RAs also enforce I-House policies, help residents with conflict matters, check-in and check-out, and lock-outs. RAs work from 4:00 pm - 8:00 am Monday - Friday and all day weekends and holidays. Front Desk Hours
Sunday-Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.
Thursday-Saturday: 7:00 a.m. - 2:00 a.m.
