Sunday Supper is a tradition that inspired the founding of the first International House and continues forward at every I-House around the world. As one of    I-House's oldest and most signature traditions, Sunday Supper is a chance for residents and alumni to come together as a community. Sunday Suppers are held quarterly and feature a shared sit-down dinner, resident performances, and distinguished guest speakers.

Registration Details   

Registration is required to attend this event. This event is only open to I-House residents. 

Accommodations: Please indicate any reasonable access needs when registering.

Registration Timeline and Registration Link: 

  • Please review the cancellation policy before registering.
  • Cost: $5
  • You will receive an email from RIO with a link to register for the event.
  • Your unique I-House Resident ID found in I-House Resident portal(link is external) and/or your I-House ID card. Do not enter your Cal ID number.

  • Waitlist: Ticket are non-transferable. There will be 30 spots for waitlist. If a ticket becomes available, you will be contacted automatically with further instructions on how to register. If you do not sign up on time, your ticket will be offered to next person in the waitlist in the order of the waitlist registered. 

Cancellation Policy: Please Read Before Registering

By registering for our I-House programs and events, you acknowledge and agree to comply with this cancellation policy. 

  • If you're not an I-House resident and haven't attended the floor meeting, your registration will be cancelled.
  • If you have any outstanding conduct issues with I-House or our affiliated institution, your ticket may be subject to cancellation.
  • Residents who have already attended Sunday Supper in the Academic Year 2024-25 are subjected to have their tickets canceled to accommodate as many residents as possible and ensure fair attendance opportunities.
  • Please follow our event registration guidelines and procedures. Failure to do so will result in ticket cancellation.
  • There will be a cut off time to check-in, failure to arrive on time will result in not be allowed to attend. Late arrival will be considered a no show, and will be given to the next person on the waitlist. 

Cancellation Requests

In order to receive full refund, cancel 72 hours before the event. You can do so through your Eventbrite account.  We understand that unexpected situations can arise, so if you're facing an emergency, please reach out to rio@ihouseberkeley.org(link sends e-mail) as soon as possible. 

**No-shows or last-minute cancellations without written notice will result in automatic cancellation of your registration for future I-House events, including Sunday Supper.

Logistics

Check-in: 5PM at Great Hall. Door closes at 5:45PM. Remember to bring your Eventbrite ticket (QR code available in your email) and a valid ID for entrance. For guests over 21, please have a valid US license or state ID, or passport ready for identification.

Who can attend Sunday Supper?

This is a private event. Only I-House Residents, Alumni, Executive Guests, and Staff are eligible to attend.

Where is it? 

Sunday Supper is in the Chevron Auditorium at International House.

When is Sunday Supper?

There are 4 Sunday Suppers each academic year. Check out our Calendar of Community Events for current event information. 

Is there a registration process or sign-up to attend?

The October Sunday Supper registration links will only be provided to the residents who attended Fall 2024 Floor Meetings during the welcome week. Registration is required and can be completed on the International House at UC Berkeley Eventbrite page. You will need your Full Name, I-House Resident ID number, room number, and email address. 

Is there a cost to attend Sunday Supper? Do tickets really sell out that quickly?  

The cost to attend is $5.00. Please review cancellation policy. 

Yes! Registration usually fills up within minutes, so be ready to sign up when it opens.  

Is there a waitlist if tickets sell out?  

Yes, there will be a limited waitlist. Residents on the waitlist will be contacted to verify their spot, along with further instructions.  If no confirmation is sent, then the waitlist is full.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, notify us at least 72 hours in advance. No-shows or last-minute cancellations outside this window may result in ticket cancellations for future events.

What happens if I arrive late? 

Doors close at 5:45 PM. Late arrivals will be considered no-shows, and their ticket will be given to the next person on the waitlist.

What is the check-in process?  

To check-in, please bring your Eventbrite ticket or QR code, a valid photo ID, and have your I-House Resident ID number ready.  

Is there a dress code?

Formal or traditional cultural attire is encouraged. Have fun with it, this is a chance to dress up and engage with the I-House Community.

Is food provided at the event? 

Yes, food will be catered for appetizers, dinner, and dessert. If you have allergies, please include this information on the Registration Form, under Accommodations.

What should I do if I have accessibility needs? 

Please indicate any reasonable access needs when completing your registration. We will work with you to ensure an equal experience.

Can I perform at Sunday Supper?

Yes, there is a call for auditions. If selected, you are guaranteed a seat at the event.
